Buildings proclaimed for Monuments of Culture in year 2019.

In 2019, the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade accomplished the proclamation process as a Monument of Culture for three buildings in Belgrade, a Car showroom and a Fiat-Jugoauto workshops, a Residential building of Josif Šojat in Kralja Milutina 23. Street and Villa Šterić in Dedinje.
Milan Zloković’s archive collection at the Belgrade City Museum

On the basis of the cooperation agreement on the formation of the Milan Zloković archive collection, concluded in 2017 between the Foundation and the Belgrade City Museum, the processing of objects, their conservation and digitalization and taking over into the property of the Belgrade City Museum have been ongoing for two years.

As part of the exhibition of watercolors by the architect Milan Zloković (Trieste, 1898- Belgrade, 1965), a panel discussion was held at the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade on Kalemegdan on November 7, 2019, at which the personality of the architect Zloković was the main subject.

On the occasion of the European Heritage Day, the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade organized the exhibition “Traces of Travel – Watercolors by Milan Zloković”. The exhibition was opened on October 1, 2019 and its duration was extended until December 31. It is realized in cooperation with the Foundation. The author of the exhibition is art historian Hajna Tucić.

Organized by the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, on October 25, 2019, the first thematic evening of the retrospective cycle “Serbian architects of modern and contemporary age” was held, dedicated to the architect Milan Zloković.
Salvation for the Children’s Clinic is on the horizon

The year 2017 was marked by several other events, very important for the preservation of the work of Milan Zloković. A decision was made to implement the Project of construction of a new University Children’s Clinic and rehabilitating the existing building with the return to its original shape, and regardless of the announced project, in October the reconstruction of the facade of the University Children’s Clinic began, which will indicate original architecture and make a clear distinction from rough extensions from the 1990s.
Milan Zloković’s archive is packed, sterilized and ready for museum processing

In the second half of last year, based on the agreement between the Museum of the City of Belgrade and the Milan Zloković Foundation, the collection, classification, packaging and sterilization of archival material has been compelte, which remained the fruit of great work and wide interests of Milan Zloković.
New buildings for cultural monuments

The City Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments has submitted documentation for the proclamation into the Monument of Culture of the Fiat-Jugoauto car showroom and service building and the House of Josif Šojat in ul. Kralja Milutina 23 (these buildings are now under the “previous protection” regime). In addition to this, the great news is that the Institute has made a decision to initiate the procedure for declaring Villa Prendić and Villa Šterić as cultural monuments next year.
An agreement on the archive collection of Milan Zloković was signed with the Museum of the City of Belgrade

The Foundation and the Museum of the City of Belgrade signed an agreement on the formation of the archive collection of Milan Zloković in the museum, held on May 26, 2017 at the house of the architect. The agreement stipulates that the archive of Milan Zloković will be processed with digitalization so that it will be available to all interested parties via the Internet, and the archive material will be preserved and kept in the museum as a legacy of the architect.
